Reservation Information
- Are reservations required?
Yes. Reservations are required in advance to secure your spot on a tour.
- How much advance notice is sufficient for my reservation?
Although it is often possible to make a reservation within a day of the tour that you would like to take, it is advisable to plan ahead if you would like to take a tour on Weekends and/or during our high season (March 21st - November 1st).
- How do I make a Reservation?
There are two ways to make a Reservation. You can either call our office at 877-703-9225 or book online under our Reservations page. Just fill out the information form and once we receive your reservation request we will either call or email you to confirm. - Please note that if you make a Reservation online through our website you MUST do so before the cut-off times 2 Hours before each tour starts.
- What information will I need to provide in order to make a reservation?
You will need to provide your name, a working email address, a working phone number and alternate number and the number of people in your party.
You will also need to provide us with a valid credit card or check card so we can secure your spot on the tour. This is just for authorization purposes and you will need to present the same card to your tour guide upon arrival. Your card will then be swiped and you will be given a receipt. You will not be charged twice.
- What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept cash, check or credit.
- Where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online through the following websites.
Travelocity, expedia, etix, savannah tours.
Please note that when you call and make a reservation you are not “purchasing” a ticket but rather reserving your spot on a tour in which you will purchase upon arrival for your tour.
- Do you provide senior citizen, student, military, or AAA discounts?
Yes. All of the above will receive a $3 per person discount with proper identification.
- Do you provide discounts for large groups?
Yes. Competitive discounts are available for parties of 10 or more.
- Are there discounts if I take more than one tour?
Yes. Repeat customers will receive a $3.00 per person per tour discount for taking more than one tour.
Tour Information
- Are the tour times listed the only times available?
Yes. However, we do offer times for private and group tours. Please contact us for more information.
- How long do the tours last and are they strenuous?
Most tours last approximately 90 minutes and cover 1.5 miles. The Historic Homes tour is the only exception and may last up to two and a half hours on some occasions due to the time spent in each home and covers the same distance. All tours enjoy frequent stops along the way.
- How many people are usually on each tour?
Fifteen is the average on most of our tours, though many tours will have as few as four to eight participants and as many as twenty or twenty-five on occasion.
- Should I bring anything along for the tour?
Water during the Summer. Bug spray in the evening during warm months. And a camera any time!
- Can people with wheelchairs or strollers go on these tours?
Yes.
- Can I bring my pet?
Yes. You are welcome to bring your pet as long as they are leashed, friendly and you are prepared to clean up after them.
- What if it rains?
All tours will go rain or shine unless there is severe lightening and really nasty weather. Please call our office if you have concerns about the weather and you would like to confirm that your tour will take place as planned.
- Are there restrooms along the way?
The City of Savannah currently does not offer many public restrooms in the Historic District, and it is advisable to take this into consideration before beginning your touring tour.
- Where do we meet our guide?
All tours meet from Johnson Square Please arrive and check in fifteen minutes before your tour.
- Where can we park?
Although there is metered parking in the downtown area, it is best to use one of the parking garages that are located within a short walk of Johnson Square.
- Should I tip my guide after the tour?
It is customary to offer your guide a small tip if you are pleased with the quality of your tour and you would like to express your gratitude for a job well done!

- Is a walking tour the best way to see Savannah considering that it would seem like touring by van or carriage would allow me to see much more?
A walking tour is definitely the way the savvy travelers tour Savannah because of the fact that the guides are generally superior in both knowledge and presentation, as well as the fact that touring by foot allows one to see the Historic District up close. As anyone who has visited Savannah before will tell you, the beauty here is in the details.
- Do you guarantee the quality of your tours and customer satisfaction?
At Southern Strolls we make every effort to provide our customers with an experience that is highly entertaining and informative. If for any reason you are not satisfied with our services, please call our office for a full refund. Although your guide certainly will honor your request on the spot, it is most important that our management hears every customer's frank opinion of our services.
- What makes each tour a uniquely different tour experience?
Content. Although most of our tours take routes through the same general area of the city, it is the topic being presented that makes each of our tours so special. And though one may see a few familiar sights along the way, we are confident that you will see many new and interesting features of Savannah on every tour.
- Do you provide privately guided tours?
Yes. Please contact our office to request a private tour.
- Are all of the tours available year-round?
Yes, except on Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day.
- What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your reservation at any time for any reason with a minimum of two hours notice. Just call our office and our receptionist will be glad to assist you.
